Corporate training

Today, more than ever given current economic times, we all need to look outside the box in order to not only survive but thrive. ‘Bodies Active’ is helping companies like Roland DG take a renewed approach to their companies mission, goals and ultimately their sustainable future. ‘Bodies Active’ believes that the key to creating a world standard company lies with creating a new and different mindset for all the stakeholders, especially the staff members. This altered mind set starts with improving individuals health and wellbeing, helping them create authentic happiness in their role within the company and ultimately their lives.

When we first assessed Roland DG, we realised the company had a vibrant group of staff. It didn’t take long for us to realise the interest and awareness people already had for their own health and wellbeing. Luckily the director shared our vision to integrate a holistic health system that would create change in the workplace. A vision that takes a proactive approach towards OH&S, stress management, and wellbeing,  A vision that would also create a stronger and more focused company.  This is what sets Roland DG apart from others and what really makes them an employer of choice.

At Bodies Active, we realise that providing education and feedback about health and wellbeing encourages people to make better lifestyle decisions. This measure of success has been witnessed in quarterly health consultations that have been a part of Roland DG for the last 2 years. The feedback and holistic approach of these consultations have seen an improvement in many aspects of health and wellbeing.

This graph shows two quarterly comparisons of health consultation results that has indicated progressive improvements in all areas of health and wellbeing. Based on the scoring system of the health consultations we calculated that for the month of may 2010 the mean of the consultations was 74.4, we then saw the mean increase to 76 by the month of Novemember 2010, then the mean increased again to 79 points  in february 2011.

The quarterly assessments also indicated a reduction in sick leave (down by a total of 6 days for the month of Nov 2010 – Feb 2011), improvements in physical readings such as cholesterol, blood pressure, resting HR and improved lifestyle choices about nutrition and stress management.

Health consultations have been proven to save lives and significantly improve quality of life.

In conjunction with quarterly health consultations ‘Bodies Active’ offer stretching and core conditioning workshops to staff in order to promote good posture, address common work related injuries such as back pain and to promote movement within the company. Workshops are specifically tailored to the work environment and have been a great way to prevent many causes of muscle tension.

Overall the results at Roland DG have been progressive with recent consultation results show a strong, healthy and vibrant company that will ensure the staff have knowledge and awareness for their own wellbeing.
